Writing Exercise: Group Story

SettingEvery week, Wrightspeak shares writing exercises with readers.

This week, we’re serving up a group exercise for our readers. For this exercise, you will work with your writers group to several original stories in record time.

Each writer must quickly write the beginning of a story in 10 minutes, then pass their story to the closest writer sitting to their left. Next, each writer will write the middle section of the article for the next 10 minutes. For the final period of the exercise, writers will switch stories for the last time and then write the conclusion section of the stories.

Once all of the writers are finished, writers must read the final stories out loud to the group.
